ISPRS 1998 Relationship of the New MOLA Topography of Mars to Existing Maps and Models
A comparison of the MOLA topographic profile data with existing digital topography indicates the presence of both systematic and significant local and regional differences. These differences are in part related to the coordinate system and parameters defining these datasets but also to the data originally used in the development of the models. The relationship of the MOLA topography to the 6.1 mbar atmospheric pressure surface, the USGS maps, and Viking image datsets will be discussed.
