Planetary Maps

[Planetary Maps]
The USGS RPIF keeps a collection of planetary maps published by the Department of the Interior (of which the USGS is one agency) in folded form. Many of the maps are also available unfolded. There is a wide variety of planetary maps from other sources, such as the Department of Defense and NASA. The Index of Maps of the Planets and Satellites is a searchable inventory of the maps we have in our collection.

Flagstaff Apollo Literature

[Flagstaff Apollo Literature]
This Flagstaff Apollo collection contains literature relating to NASA's Apollo program. Many of the materials in the collection were produced by NASA and private companies that developed the materials and methods that allowed man to set foot on the moon. In this collection you will find materials relating to lunar rock studies, lunar geology of Apollo landing sites, indexes of photography, reports about tool development, and many other documents. We have a searchable catalogue of our Apollo Literature on this site.

16mm Films

[16mm Films]
This is a collection of 16mm films. Most of the films in the collection were produced by the NASA or the USGS Center of Astrogeology Film Documentation Unit. Most of the films relate to astronaut training and Apollo equipment testing that was done in Flagstaff, Arizona. We have a searchable inventory of our 16mm Films available on this site.

Branch History Photographs

This is a varied collection of photographs that documents the involvement of Flagstaff, Arizona in the Apollo program. The collection contains photos of astronaut training, Apollo equipment tests and staff activities of the Astrogeology branch. Lunar Orbiter Literature

This is a collection of literature that is related to the Lunar Orbiter missions which took place in the mid 1960s.
