Plug-ins
In order to open the "view only" PDF versions of the maps within your
browser (that is, without copying them to your drive or directing your
software to the file locations on the web site, you must install the PDFViewer
plug-in in your browsers' plug-ins folder, and set your helper application
to use the PDFViwer plug-in. You also need to have the Acrobat Reader 3.0.1
or later installed on your computer. If you do not have Acrobat Reader
and the PDF plug-in, they are available for some browsers.
Readers
You can read all the PDF files on this site with Adobe Acrobat Reader
alone. At the time this was prepared, Acrobat Reader was being offered
free for download from www.Adobe.com*
and is also packaged with many Adobe products. Other applications are gradually
recognizing the PDF standard.
