Using instruments on NASA&#039;s 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft, surprised
scientists have found enormous quantities of buried treasure lying just
under the surface of Mars -- enough water ice to fill Lake Michigan
twice over. And that may be only the tip of the iceberg...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

    Vast regions of Mars abound in water, mixed as ice with the dirt,
dust and rock that form the top 3 feet of the planet&#039;s surface, initial
data from the mission suggests. The camera system on the Mars 2001
Odyssey sent its first detailed pictures from the Mars orbit last week.
NASA released the images to the public during a press conference on
Friday, March 1...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
