Surrounded by the Coconino National Forest, outdoor enthusiasts can be hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, off-roading, skiing, or a wide variety of other activities all within a few minutes of town.
Many Flagstaff residents take advantage of indoor facilities to stay in shape for their favorite sports during the off-season at various athletic facilities around the city. Sedona, just a 30 to 45 minute drive to the south, offers spectacular scenery and a wide range activities. At 4,500 feet elevation, Sedona offers slightly warmer temperatures making it a popular destination for Flagstaff residents during the winter. Sedona features hiking trails, golf courses, air tours, tourist activities, entertainment, and shopping.
Also nearby are a wealth of fascinating places to explore some of the fascinating sights of Northern Arizona, less than two hours away.
